Designing for Education
Natural ventilation for schools
Our children deserve schools that are safe, comfortable and inspiring. The natural ventilation offered by Breezway Louver Windows helps to deliver this.
Breezway Louver Windows are strategically positioned throughout the college, at high and lower levels to stimulate air movement throughout the learning areas. View project.
Design
Designed to open twice as wide as other window types to offer maximum ventilation and reduce the need for air conditioning.
Strong and Durable
Non-corrosive materials and multiple design features reduce the risk of vandalism. Optional security screens available.
Automation
Breezway Powerlouver System allow integration of ventilation into automated building management systems, or easy operation of windows in out-of-reach locations.
Acoustics
Good sealing and relatively thick glass provides effective noise insulation barrier.
Low Maintenance
Designed, tested and made to order with a warranty of up to 7 years. No regular maintenance beyond cleaning and periodic operation. If a louver blade is broken, plywood can be easily cut to size and installed while a replacement blade is sourced.
Safe
Proven ability to safely retain blades using the Stronghold System. Tempered safety glass with arrised edges are more than 4 times stronger than annealed glass. Also safe to clean above ground level.

Improved Learning Outcomes
Controlled studies in 1999 and 2000 showed that as ventilation rates increase, children perform school work with greater speed. And the performance of adults was also shown to improve at higher ventilation rates.

And 2000. “The effects of outdoor air supply rate in an office on perceived air quality, sick building syndrome (SBS) symptoms and productivity.” Indoor Air 10(4):222-236.
Improved Learning Outcomes
A study of over 200 pupils showed significantly faster and more accurate standardized test responses when classrooms had high ventilation rates compared with low ventilation conditions.

Optimize your learning environment
Architects and designers generally have a good grasp on the advantages of natural ventilation and strive to incorporate it into their plans. Scientific research has demonstrated that students require a link to their surroundings to promote a healthy body and mind.
As a result, we specialize in products that decrease energy expenditures and foster young minds for better educational outcomes.

Locally Manufactured in Hawaii
Breezway maintains a direct presence in Honolulu with a manufacturing centre that enables custom-made orders on short lead times after order placement.
Altair Louver Windows are available as a complete window system or in componentry for easy installation into timber or flat commercial frames and are available from a highly respected network of window dealers.
